Basic DAoC Plat Making Tips
1. Make sure you have auto loot on. You wouldn't want to miss out on items you can sell to the NPCs.
2. Avoid repairing items, although the effectiveness of the item may drop or be fully damaged to the point you can't wear it anymore you will get newer and better items as you level up.
3. Don't waste money on buying items of 100% quality, whether it's crafted or a drop, they tend to be more expensive, items aren't even worth buying until at least the level of 40+. Save your money for scrolls that are very hard to farm for.
4.
Caster classes usually cost less to maintain than a tank. Tanks require alot of repairing for their armors and weapons. Casters on the other hand doesn't get hit as often as a tank. Roll a caster imo.
5. Grabbing a profession can cost alot of plats to level. Especially if you're a backsmith or weaponsmith. In my opinion, it's not worth the time unless you plan on doing alot of afk playing and etc. If you're a more active player, roll a class that can actively farm such as a tank. What I would recommend more than a tank would be pet focus class such as the spiritmaster for Midgard.
6. Get a bot, in DAoC it's rather extremely important to have your own bot. I would say about 40% of the players have their on cleric, druid or shaman healing and buffing themselves. It speeds up their downtime as well as increasing their main characters strength.
7. If you have a bot that I've mentioned you should be able to farm TOa easily. There are many good scrolls that drops and the 2 places I would recommend to farm in is Aerus and Volcanus. The red con mobs drops 3o3 scrolls that can value anywhere from 1 plat to 40 plats.
8. At higher levels always aim for the best template possible, the stronger you are the faster you'll kill. Less downtime as well. The investment will be well worth it, get some RA's as well if you can. Be sure to complete the master levels too. The FoP ability comes in very handle if you're a caster, the SoR isn't too bad either.
9. Buy a lot and a small house along with a consignment merchant. The cottage should cost around 1p, the merchant about 1p and the lot for about 300G. It's a cheap investment, you will now be able to selling your items easily in housing area.
10. Last but not least, the housing area's been a difficult place to purchase stuff because of the server clustering. Each server has their own prices for specific items and you can easily buy an item off 1 server and sell it on another server for more. Be sure to check out the market and post your item at a reasonable price. After all you will be helping your own realm which is important.
